The Grimsby and Streaper Casket Company rose in 1891, perched atop a cave the locals called The Sink—a place whispered to unhinge the mind, or erase it entirely.
The factory appeared almost overnight, built by a secretive crew who never strayed from the site and were never seen leaving it.
As for the owners, Grimsby and Streaper, they were a matched pair—always together, always dressed alike, and always returning from long absences with crates that reeked of death. They called it their “collection.”
The factory never slept, but the darkest business stirred after nightfall. Townsfolk blamed its walls for the growing roll call of the missing.
Then in 1926, both men vanished without a trace. The building was sealed, hidden behind new storefronts, and politely forgotten.
